Natural History NZ
DUNEDIN.
Adaptive reuse - reuse and recycling of the existing building fabric was an important driver for film maker Natural History NZ's new offices.
Flexible Interconnected Spaces were required to attain a better work environment for their talented and creative teams.
Visual contact and connectivity between the two levels is achieved via the atrium core.
Energy Use - heat is recovered from technical equipment and transferred into the atrium space. The recovered heat plus solar radiation is stored in the new thermal mass wall.
Euro Hotel and Apartments
DUNEDIN.
The Euro hotel is located in the heart of Dunedins retail area. The tight site presented many challenges. Our compact multi storied design has produced light and spacious rooms, each with a private balcony and northerly aspect.
The clear span basement level allowed for maximising car parking which is a premium in the central city.
The Hotel connects to adjoining apartments via a covered courtyard providing a unique feature for this inner city complex
Moana Pool Gymnasium
DUNEDIN.
The new Gym at Moana Pool in Dunedin presented many challenges as we worked to blend the new structure into the unique buildings style. Built in the 1960's the original Pool building has been one of Dunedin's most striking and sucessful city assets.
The new structure for the gym built on top of the existing change room structure replicates the raked glass walls of the original structure.
The end result is a very popular gymnasium with magnificent views over the city and harbour.
